Dr. Candice P. Chu is a veterinary clinical pathologist and an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University. She earned her DVM from National Taiwan University, followed by a PhD in veterinary pathology and residency training at Texas A&M. Before her current role, she served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on integrating bioinformatics, AI in veterinary medicine, and digital cytology. She received the ACVP Harold W. Casey Scholarship Award and 4 ASVCP/ACVP Young Investigator Awards for her research and presentations. She authored the review article: “ChatGPT in veterinary medicine: a practical guidance of generative artificial intelligence in clinics, education, and research.” She has served as an invited/keynote speaker on AI at major veterinary conferences, including ACVP, ACVIM, AVMA, and ACVR. She was recently nominated to the AVMA Task Force on Emerging Technologies and Innovation, highlighting her recognition as a rising expert in this field. Besides research, she demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching using innovative teaching methods, including YouTube and multiple social media (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter/X).
